Kildare Library Painting Workshop

Two of our members took part in a painting workshop in Kildare Library last week. It was an age friendly event for people over 55.

Orla was the facilitator and she helped everyone to create a winter landscape in the style of Kandinsky’s ‘Winter Landscape, 1909’. She picked this artist because of his use of bright colours. Traditional winter landscapes can be quite dull so this was a lovely way to break from the norm and try something new.

While we were up in the library we also got a chance to see ‘Nine Lives’ by Greg Hallahan which is an exhibition of drawings that were inspired by local historian Mario Corrigan’s book titled ‘Nine Lives’.
